Burglary Solved

On 12/24/2016, GCSO K-9 Sergeant Matthew Rexroat responded to The BBQ Shack Restaurant in Fanning Springs, after it was reported that the business had been burglarized and property had been stolen. During the ensuing investigation, Detective Keagon Weatherford worked with Detective C.J. Perryman of the LEVY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE and ultimately developed to suspects. On the same date, interviews were conducted by both detectives, resulting in the arrest of ALURA JADE MYERS (WF, D.O.B. 11-16-95) of Chiefland, Florida and a 17 year old white male(also of Chiefland), on unrelated charges in Levy County, while Detective Weatherford submitted charges to the 8th Judicial State Attorney’s Office on both suspects for Burglary, Grand Theft related to the BBQ Shack investigation.
Recently appointed Chiefland Police Chief, Scott Anderson assisted during the course of the investigation.
